Longshot magazine (formerly known as 48hour magazine until
CBS sent a cease and desist) is happening again this weekend. In case you missed it last time, the basic idea is this: a bunch of people create a magazine in 48 hours. A theme is announced, contributors create original content fast, the submissions are culled, edited, laid out and the magazine ships - all within 48 hours.
I was lucky enough to work with them on Issue Zero out of
Mother Jones' office SF, and this time I am heading to LA with the crew to work out of
GOOD magazine's office. Check back over the weekend for artistic record of the event.
Meantime, an aside: one quarter of Issue Zero's earnings became the winnings in a
treasure hunt in SF. The money has already been found, but hopefully the treasure map I drew for it is still useful as a guide to a good walk around a landmark on a sunny day.
