the paper has become a problem. it's too precious. the gravity of its weight calls my attention to fineries, to cloaks and meticulous hair styles, which are entirely uninteresting in comparison to the faces of the fine folk wearing them.
This is the first drawing i have ever edited for fear of what people might think about what i wrote on it. Or rather, what they might think about me for writing it.
it's interesting the correlation between people's expression and their body language, and what they are reading. in several of these, and earlier dated drawings as well, i've included the titles of magazine articles, newspapers, etc.

Project: development of an educational/awareness raising campaign for HIV prevention, reproductive health, female genital cutting, and living with HIV, targeting the predominant five tribes living in the Laikipia and Samburu regions, who are all nomadic, 80 percent are non-literate, and all together speak at least 7 different languages.
