June 25, 2007

If there is anything good about a 9-5, it's the forced discipline found on the way to and from the Big City.

my projection of destination, imagination and embarrassing personal grooming habits soon to be transcribed onto these poor, unsuspecting sitters on BART - but for now, just the drawings will have to do.

Met with an old field advisor at Columbia U this week who proudly told me of the film you made in the Congo, and came across your blog. Congratulations ...... great to hear Africa is still close to your heart.

Rockstar!
Where the hell are you?
From what I see here, you're commuting a LOT!
I used to do that last year- Berkeley to SF and back. and again and again and AGAIN- but YOU, THESE DRAWINGS. Well done!
Come on out to Point Reyes and VISIT and we will swap stories and eat food and drink wine. Can't wait.

wendy, i love your portraits, i can never just sit down and draw a person, or really anything for that matter; i always overthink an object. it was great meeting you yesterday, i would really like to show you some of my work sometime.

Amazing portraits of people. I am blown away by their execution -- your handling of the difficult angles, and the color. Holy crap.
